Does
Nutella deserve the atack?
I will commence this blog with a
quote from a French Ecology Minister; Segolene Royal said, that started
this whole Nutella attack rolling.
" We have to replant a lot of
trees because there is massive deforestation that also leads to global warming.
We should stop eating Nutella, for example, because it's made with palm
oil," Royal told French television network Canal+."
So, there you have it. Now let's look at the
connection within this whole Palm-oil phenomenon. What we, or as this Minister
forgot is that the whole human population IS responsible for this problem. This going out of
control situation and that the earth have to make adjustments to itself to
accompany these changes and these adjustments are detrimental to some species
on the earth, including the human( the ones really going against nature on
earth.)
Now understand that Palm Oil, was and is a common
cooking ingredient in the Tropical belt of Africa, South East Asia and parts of
Brazil, which one could say was and is a natural and balanced way of using the
Palm Oil.
Now the main reason we have a problem with Palm oil in
this world, where we are exhausting every natural resources that we can put our
hands on, is because of us wanting to make more MONEY, to meet our over-excessive
consumption disease. Understand that there are only a few companies making lots
of money on this particular resource. However it is ALL of us supporting them
by buying these products that they are making with this Palm Oil, that is the
major contribution to the deforestation that is going on and some animals losing
their natural habitats where they become endangered or worse yet going extinct.
So what I am saying here is that we CANNOT put the fault/mistake/blame on one
person or on one company alone within all this, because it is all of us, even
if some of us individually will not be buying products that have Palm Oil in
them, still we are ALL responsible for what is going on this earth, world-wide,
either one is directly involved or not!
The point being also that one must understand is, that
instead of looking at it as a point of blame, we have to look at it as just
what it is, which is: " a problem we(humanity) have caused, and when we
all see that it is a problem, what do we do? we fix it, we work towards
solutions that will have an outcome that will be best for everyone and
everything!"
So now here below I will put a picture of the steps
involved in this whole business of Palm Oil production. I want you, the reader
to take a closer look at each step and understand that in all the steps,
excluding the first one you are participating in all of them through your
acceptance and allowance, where it is contributing to the destruction of life
on earth. In these steps one must understand that there are lots of individuals
making a living out of it, and in some area's and/or countries they even abuse
children by letting them work as slaves on these Palm Oil plantations without
paying them.
So what do we do? Should we continue
accepting and allowing this, or should we come and put our heads together and
start looking for solutions to the problem(s) we have caused collectively in a
practical way? We must eradicate our heavy dependency on money being our
way of "making a living," and transform the way we use money in a way
where instead of it being a burden into our lives it truly becomes a vehicle
with which we support only the needs we have and can invent, to make not only
our experience as human beings one of the very best, however also the very best
for all other life forms that are here.
As one can see, boycotting Nutella
for example as one company will not change anything, because the origin of the
problem lies in all of humanity, this is just one of the many of similar consequences related to
our greed, how far we are willing to satisfy our greed and our greed-based
programming, that devastates all life on earth including ourselves.
Thus all the way from plantation to
end-product , everything that occurs in between, is our self-interest as ourselves putting its mark
on the destruction of life on earth.
So now here is one individual
condemning a company and wanting everyone else to boycott the product that this
company is making, without taking into consideration that there is lots more at
play then just one company being the one taking the heat.
What about coming up with a
solution where those working and making a living on these Palm Oil plantations,
have an income that really support their living needs , so they don't find
themselves having to do a job that they HAVE to take it or leave it kind of
situation, because there is just no
other way to come to money? Does one think that they will go back to do that
job and especially when they find out what the job they are doing is having as
consequence to life on earth? Because right now, some of them may know, however
there is no other way for them to make a living, thus they just take whatever
is available in order to have some money to make a living.
Within the same breath also, us
coming up with a system that focus ONLY on making life on earth the best
experience EVER for everyone and everything.
Where we don't just make products
because some of us want to make money or we must sustain a system of money
based on perpetual debt accumulation that is infinite in its core design and is
doomed to collapse. A system where we diminish exponentially our consumption ,
and consume only to meet our needs but in balance with how nature works and
little by little as we grow in understanding how nature works, how life on
earth really works, we can come up with new ways of consuming that will put
less and less pressure on earth and how nature produces the resources we will
have as needs.
As we, most of us already know
nowadays everything we do is solely based on us looking for ways to make more
money, even if one cares about life on earth, because we all know that less and
less money is available in the system, so we all are running around looking for
ways to make more money, looking for a better paid job or whatever, or trying
to start a business that will bring more money, however meanwhile the system
that produces that very same money IS a system of perpetual DEBT accumulation.
Thus as long as there is no
solution on the horizon for people that do not have a way to make a living for
themselves that support all their physical/practical needs without any effort,
we will continue to have these kind of situations till there is no way out
anymore than to suffer the dire consequences of our over-excessive consumption
disease.
That is why I implore you to have a
look at our proposal that we have come up with, that is called: Living Income
Guaranteed ( LIG)
Because even within this very
fragile and abusive system, there are still holes in it, where we can turn all
of this around and make this capitalistic system take a route not expected that
will lead us into little by little fixing our immediate pressing problems to
eventually one day solve all of them and even getting out of this capitalistic
system, into a system where LIFE is truly honored and sustained with dignity in all the forms
it expresses itself within and as.
Thus, Join us in our plight and our
endeavor to work towards solution to our very own self-created problems!
Thanks.
Larry Manuela
